In this phase we determine your design needs, wishes, dilemmas and concerns. We get a feel for your personal tastes and lifestyle so that we may have a better understanding of your project. A Design Services Agreement is drafted and executed, and a preliminary budget is set.

We then establish the overall concept and provide options for color, fabric, furnishings, fixtures, equipment, wall coverings, floor coverings and window treatments. Design plans are prepared and presented.

After initial design concepts and plans are finalized, all fabrics, furnishings and finishes are fine-tuned and approved. Vendors are contacted, purchase orders are approved and orders are placed and processed. All applicable trade discounts are passed along to the client. At anywhere from 10 to 50 percent, this is a savings that adds up. In fact, we have found that with a decisive client and efficient approvals, the discount structure can significantly offset fees.

All the design elements and collaborations come together in this exciting phase which includes vendors, delivery services and sub-contractors. Furnishings and materials are delivered and installed. All the finishing touches are positioned and placed according to the design plans created by MJD and approved by the client.
